How much will you receive each month?

It's not just about how much you save. It's about how long it lasts and what you can actually buy with it once you retire. This calculator includes inflation and spreads your savings into a monthly payout over those years. That way you see a steady income, not a single lump sum.

Your numbers

Savings phase
Monthly contribution€150
Up to €150/month you get the full subsidy from both tiers (50% on the first €30/month, 25% on the rest up to €150/month). Above that you can keep contributing, but with no extra tip: the law sets a total cap of about €570/month (€6,840/year) for the Altersvorsorgedepot.

Expected return
No bank has a certified ETF for the Altersvorsorgedepot yet. These three options are reference scenarios based on what those markets returned in the past, not a guarantee of what will happen.
"Conservative" means a mix with fewer stocks and more bonds: it earns less, but it also moves a lot less, it doesn't rise as much in a good year, and it doesn't fall as much in a crisis.
Children with Kindergeld
0
+€300/year in subsidy per child, if you contribute at least €300/year.
Opening the account before age 25
A one-time gift from the state, added only in the first year.
Inflation and retirement
Expected annual inflation2.5%
How much value your money loses each year, on average.
Payout years (retirement)20 years
Example: you retire at 65 and the plan pays out until 85 (20 years).
Return during payout3.0%
The money you haven't withdrawn yet stays invested, but in something calmer. If the market drops right when you already depend on that money to live, it's far more serious than if it drops while you're still saving and have time to recover. We use 3.0% by default, half or less of what's expected during the savings phase.
Educational simulation based on the rules of the Altersvorsorge-Reformgesetz (passed in 2026, in effect from January 1, 2027). This is not financial advice or a guaranteed projection. It does not include taxes at the time of withdrawal.

Difference in your favor
What the state gives you, already compounded
In today's euros (adjusted for inflation), that is really worth . That's what you'll actually be able to buy with that money.
The state's tip has a fixed ceiling: a maximum of €540/year, no matter how much more you contribute. The Altersvorsorgedepot's fee (1%/year) is charged on your entire balance, which grows every year. That's why it pays off most the closer you stay to the subsidized €150/month; the more you contribute above that, the more the fee weighs against the tip, to the point where a cheap free broker can end up winning.

Simplified model: constant contribution each year, subsidy calculated on the 2026 rules (50% up to €360/year, 25% up to €1,800/year, €540 cap + €300 per child + a one-time €200 if you open before age 25). The monthly payout is calculated as an annuity that exhausts the capital exactly at the end of the payout years, assuming the remaining balance stays invested at the payout-phase return. The "today's euros" figure discounts inflation accumulated during the savings years. It doesn't include taxes on withdrawal or future changes to the law.
